Larry Miller's Israel Experience Miller is the acerbic comedian best known for his role as the acerbic doorman in that episode of 'Seinfeld'. He writes a bi-monthly column for The Weekly Standard and it's interesting to see him get a bit dewy-eyed for the Motherland. The Fantasy Ideology of Al Qaeda An interesting analysis of the Al Qaeda. The author argues that the 9/11 attacks were intended to enthrall the Islamists in a kind of passion play/spectacle in the same way the Nazis used their mass rallies and pageants. Like we didn't already know... An analysis of Why Arabs Lose Wars. My favorite anecdote is the one from the Gulf War: A group of captured Iraqi officers had their tent blown over by the wind. Instead of putting the tent back together, they spent three days exposed to the elements. They would rather suffer the cold and the wind and the sand than have the captured enlisted men in the next to them see proud Arab officers doing manual labor of any kind. Yay, another blog. Just what the world needs today. However, I seem to run across a lot of articles and I figured it would just be easier to put them in this format instead of just e-mailing them to friends. Mostly, you'll find Israel stuff and general takes on the ongoing holy war. Plus anything I find particularly amusing. Enjoy |
